Minutes of the Regular Council Meeting

Held on September 18, 2025

Mayor Robert Barnhill called the meeting to order at 6:30 P.M. In addition to Mr. Barnhill, Council Members Neil Benton, Carey Childress, Shirley Jacobs, Judith Katalinic and Gerald Velie were present and constituted a quorum. Also present were Ms. Mary D. Bakan, Acting Village Clerk; Mr. Robert H. Corbett, Village Attorney; and Mr. Louis Hesse, Village Building Inspector.

Ms. Jacobs delivered the invocation. Mr. Barnhill led the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag of the United States and the Salute to the Flag of North Carolina.

Agenda Hearing: The mayor asked for comments on the agenda and there were no corrections or additions.

Approvals: Minutes of the August 21, 2025, meeting were approved, as amended, on motion by Mr. Childress, seconded by Ms. Jacobs. The August 2025 Financial Report was approved on motion by Ms. Katalinic, seconded by Mr. Benton.

Reports: Mr. Hesse and Ms. Moore delivered reports concerning their respective departments.

Unfinished Business: There was none.

New Business: There was none.

On motion by Mr. Velie, seconded by Mr. Benton the meeting was adjourned at 7:15 P.M.
